Unicaja will participate as a sponsor at the 23rd University of Oviedo Employment Forum, which takes place on 18 and 19 March in the Central Hall of the Luis Adaro Exhibition Centre in Gijón. By supporting this fair, the financial institution reaffirms its commitment to promoting young talent and boosting employment in Asturias, facilitating direct contact between students and companies.
Organised by the University of Oviedo, this forum has established itself as the leading platform for university employability in the region. This year’s event is expected to attract over 1,500 attendees and feature more than a hundred companies and institutions, enabling students and graduates to gain first-hand insight into the professional opportunities available across various sectors.
“Unicaja’s participation in the University of Oviedo Employment Forum reflects our commitment to bringing the bank closer to young talent and facilitating their entry into the labour market,” said Esther Jaime, the bank’s head of People and Talent. “This type of event allows us to gain first-hand insight into the concerns of students and recent graduates, guide them on the most in-demand profiles, and showcase the career opportunities we offer as an organisation with a strong presence in Asturias,” she added.
Among the activities in which Unicaja will participate, the Interview Skills Point stands out, aimed at training communication skills through interviews –some quick and others reverse– which will allow participants to practise their ability to summarise and respond in recruitment processes. The organisation will hold reverse interviews on 18 March from 12.00 to 13.00, and quick interviews on Thursday 19 March from 11.00 to 12.00.
Furthermore, the organisation will take part on 18 March, from 5.20 pm, in the “A coffee with...” session, an informal and interactive format in which students can discuss with professionals the most sought-after profiles and the key aspects of recruitment processes, in a relaxed setting that encourages the direct exchange of experiences.
With this participation, Unicaja is strengthening its collaboration with initiatives that generate value in the regions, contribute to social cohesion and promote employability, aligning its activities with the economic and social development of Asturias.
Programme of activities
The University of Oviedo Employment Forum, taking place on 18 and 19 March from 10.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00, is a space for networking and training, enabling students to improve their employability and facilitate their entry into the labour market.
Over the course of the two days, a wide range of sectors will be represented, from metallurgy, steel and renewable energy to leading firms in technology consultancy and legal services, as well as sectors such as research and development (R&D), logistics, agri-food, commerce, transport and social action organisations.
In addition, workshops and activities have been scheduled, such as ‘Branding Point’, a space where recruitment experts will review CVs and LinkedIn profiles and offer a free professional photography service. There is also the new ‘A Coffee with…’ space, the ‘Interview Skills Point’, the University of Oviedo Career Guidance Service workshop, and the new ‘Passport to Employment’ initiative, which invites visitors to tour the various stands to collect stamps from companies, with a daily prize draw of 300 euros for those who complete the route.
Alongside the activities and the exhibition area itself, a range of conferences has also been scheduled, with the aim of improving practical aspects of job hunting. Furthermore, the Employment Forum has a dedicated section for publishing job vacancies via its official website.
