Unicaja has renewed for another year as main sponsor of the Marenostrum Fuengirola music series, a festival that reaches its eleventh edition in 2026, having established itself as one of the leading open-air music events in southern Europe. The agreement reinforces the bank’s uninterrupted support for this cultural initiative since its earliest editions.

Unicaja’s head of Corporate Image, Sponsorship and Stakeholder Relations, Gemma Sotorres, and the Mayor of Fuengirola, Ana Mula, today signed the sponsorship renewal agreement, which continues a partnership aimed at the social and cultural revitalisation of the region.

“For Unicaja, renewing this sponsorship means continuing our support for a well-established cultural initiative that contributes to the social revitalisation and cultural profile of the region,” said Gemma Sotorres.

For her part, the mayor stated that “the signing of this agreement with Unicaja is wonderful news for our city and for Marenostrum Fuengirola. I would like to thank, once again, this financial institution for its confidence in a concert series that has established itself as one of the major musical highlights in our country”.

“Marenostrum Fuengirola is today one of the best open-air venues in Europe, not only because of its prime location, but also because of the quality of its programme and its excellent organisation. Over its ten editions, it has attracted more than a million attendees and has become a major economic and tourist driver for Fuengirola. “In this new edition, we will once again offer more than 40 musical events, featuring top-tier artists, which will continue to put our city on the international cultural map. Without a doubt, partnerships such as that with Unicaja are essential for continuing to grow and offering unique experiences to both residents and visitors,” he added.

Unicaja’s support for Marenostrum Fuengirola forms part of its commitment to initiatives that contribute to local development, social cohesion and the cultural profile of its home regions, integrating culture as a valuable asset for the community.

The 2026 line-up features over 40 musical acts between April and September, with performances by national and international artists such as El Último de la Fila, Aitana, Alejandro Sanz, Pablo López, Romeo Santos and Prince Royce, Lola Índigo, Dani Martín, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Sting, El Último de la Fila, Hombres G and Fito y Fitipaldis, amongst others.

Many of these concerts will take place on the ‘Unicaja’ stage, the main stage at Marenostrum Fuengirola, situated on the hilltop of Sohail Castle and with a capacity to host events for up to 18,000 people, offering a complete musical experience on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

About Marenostrum Fuengirola

Marenostrum Fuengirola has become a model of sustainable cultural management. In its eleventh edition, forecasts point to an attendance of over 240,000 spectators, consolidating Marenostrum Fuengirola as one of the major open-air music venues in southern Europe and as a key element in the Costa del Sol’s tourism and cultural positioning strategy.

Throughout its history, more than 500 top-tier artists have graced the venue’s stages, including Jennifer Lopez, Alejandro Sanz, Manuel Carrasco, Ricky Martin, Juan Luis Guerra, Bob Dylan, Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart, Santana, Rainbow, Marc Anthony, Scorpions, Maluma, Bizarrap, Aventura, Maná, Macklemore and Louis Tomlinson, who chose Fuengirola to host his The Away From Home Festival in 2022.
