Unicaja and ASAJA Cuenca have signed a new collaboration agreement to assist farmers and livestock breeders in the province with the application process for CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) subsidies, as well as to enable them to access advances on these payments from the financial institution.
Unicaja’s area manager in Cuenca, Jesús López, and the general secretary of ASAJA Cuenca, Manuel Torrero, signed this agreement at the bank’s premises in the capital, in Parque San Julián. Thanks to this agreement, both institutions are once again collaborating on a new CAP campaign, guaranteeing a high-quality service in the management and advance payment of aid, as well as addressing the financial needs of farmers and livestock breeders.
Jesús López stated that “Unicaja’s commitment to the agricultural and livestock sector in Cuenca involves offering them specialised support and deploying all its resources and financial solutions so that they can meet all their needs, as well as continue to grow, innovate and, ultimately, increase their competitive capacity in a constantly changing market”.
For his part, Manuel Torrero highlighted that, for yet another year, “we are formalising the collaboration between both organisations, thanks to which we will facilitate the processing of CAP aid applications for farmers and livestock breeders and offer a comprehensive service to our members”.
Farmers and livestock breeders in the province will be able to apply for subsidies through ASAJA Cuenca, making use of all the resources and technical staff available to the organisation. Furthermore, members who submit their application through Unicaja will be able to access the subsidy amount in advance quickly and easily, as well as benefiting from various financial advantages.
€1,000 million for the 2026 campaign
Unicaja is reinforcing its long-standing commitment to the agricultural sector by making €1,000 million in pre-approved financing available to farmers and livestock breeders for this financial year. Through this initiative, the bank is providing these professionals with the necessary liquidity in a streamlined manner to cover routine expenses and ensure the day-to-day operation of thousands of farms.
The financing facilities, in the form of loans and overdraft facilities, are intended for the 2026 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) season and for intensive crops, and aim to provide immediate liquidity to enable them to manage their seasons with confidence.
In addition, Unicaja offers farmers, amongst other products, specialised financing for olive groves and vineyards, with specific features designed to meet the needs of these types of crops.
Its experience in the sector and its knowledge of the local area, as well as its collaboration with organisations such as ASAJA Cuenca, provide first-hand insight into the needs of farmers and livestock breeders, enabling it to offer them the best solutions and the most appropriate financial tools to get the most out of their work.
For its part, ASAJA Cuenca, the largest organisation of farmers and livestock breeders in the province, offers a comprehensive service for processing CAP aid and has a team of professionals who monitor applications throughout the year, adding value to the management process.
