Unicaja and UPA Castilla-La Mancha have renewed their agreement to support farmers and livestock breeders in the region during a new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) campaign. They are thus joining forces to work towards providing efficient management of CAP campaign procedures, on the part of UPA and, special financial terms and advance payments of subsidies, provided by Unicaja.
The agreement, the result of both organisations’ commitment to the region’s agricultural and livestock sector, was signed at the organisation’s headquarters in Cuenca, in Parque San Julián, by Unicaja’s regional manager, Almudena Noheda, and the administrative secretary of UPA Castilla-La Mancha, Miguel Esponera.
Almudena Noheda highlighted “the importance of working hand in hand with organisations such as UPA to respond as effectively as possible to the financial needs of farmers and livestock breeders in Castilla-La Mancha”.
“Our aim is to offer them the most personalised service possible, and for yet another campaign, we want to be there to provide them with all the resources to improve their economic conditions and offer them liquidity to tackle their projects”.
UPA Castilla-La Mancha recognises that this type of agreement with financial institutions, as well as collaboration in administration and processing, is essential for small and medium-sized farms. “In times like these, where agriculture is becoming increasingly modernised and where innovation is key, having institutions that offer advantages is essential,” stated UPA CLM.
Thanks to the agreement, UPA members will be able to apply for CAP funding through the organisation, which will assist with the administrative procedures for the subsidies, offering the highest level of assurance.
Furthermore, those who submit their application through Unicaja will be able to access the grant amount in advance quickly and easily and benefit from special terms offered by the bank.
€1,000 million in pre-approved funding for the sector
Unicaja, committed to a sector that is essential in Castilla-La Mancha as one of its main drivers of development, works constantly to renew and adapt its financial resources to the needs faced by its professionals at any given time.
As such, the bank has allocated €1,000 million to pre-approved loans for the agricultural and livestock sector this financial year. Through this initiative, the bank provides these professionals with the necessary liquidity in a streamlined manner to cover routine expenses and ensure the day-to-day running of thousands of farms.
The financing facilities, in the form of loans and overdraft facilities, are intended for the 2026 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) campaign and for intensive crops, and aim to provide immediate liquidity to enable them to manage their campaigns with confidence.
In addition, Unicaja also offers farmers, amongst other products, specialised financing for olive groves and vineyards, with specific features designed to meet the needs of these types of crops.
