Unicaja remains firmly committed to the livestock and agricultural sector in the areas where it operates, and it works with organisations such as UPA Cantabria, with which it has recently signed a new collaboration agreement. Thanks to this agreement, both entities are joining forces to work towards providing Cantabria livestock farmers with effective management of the CAP campaign procedures, on the part of UPA, as well as special financial conditions and advance payments of the subsidy, on the part of Unicaja.
This has been established with the signing of an agreement between Unicaja's regional manager for the North, Iñaki Pradera Salazar, and the President of UPA Cantabria, Alberto Pérez Quintial. Both agreed on the importance of working hand in hand to convey the needs of the sector first-hand and to be able to offer financial products and services tailored to their needs.
In this regard, Unicaja has made 1,000 million euros in pre-approved financing available to farmers and livestock breeders for this financial year. With this initiative, the bank is providing these professionals with the liquidity needed to meet their regular expenses and ensure the daily operation of thousands of farms.
The financing lines, in the form of loans and credit accounts, are intended for the 2026 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) campaign and intensive crops.
Commitment to the livestock sector in Cantabria
Thanks to the agreement signed with UPA Cantabria, livestock breeders and farmers will be able to access CAP advances at Unicaja, as well as benefiting from a comprehensive catalogue of financial products and services with special conditions, with a view to continuing to develop their activity. In this way, they will be able to access the most innovative resources and the financing and investment alternatives most suited to their activity and projects in order to get the most out of their work and increase their competitiveness, in line with Unicaja's commitment to the sector in Cantabria.
