Unicaja has renewed its support for the Federación Malagueña de Peñas, Centros Culturales y Casas Regionales ‘La Alcazaba’ for another year by signing a collaboration agreement. Underr this agreement, the financial institution provides this organisation and more than a hundred federated associations with a comprehensive financial service on advantageous terms, with the aim of contributing to the development of their activities and projects.
The support for the work of the Federación Malagueña de Peñas is part of Unicaja's activities aimed at promoting and disseminating local culture, tradition and folklore, as well as promoting employment.
The agreement, signed by the Unicaja’s regional manager in Malaga, Francisco José Reguera, and the president of the Federación Malagueña de Peñas, Manuel Curtido, aims to contribute to facilitating the activities of both 'La Alcazaba' and the peñas that comprise it.
Unicaja’s regional manager in Malaga pointed out that the bank, "with a model based on proximity and commitment to its customers and society in general, collaborates with different entities to facilitate the development of their activities, especially in its areas of operation and, in particular, in Malaga, a province with which it has close ties".
He also highlighted the work carried out by the Federación Malagueña de Peñas, emphasising "its constant commitment to the promotion of popular culture and the associative fabric". Furthermore, he indicated that "its effort and dedication are fundamental to preserving traditions and strengthening social participation in Malaga".
For his part, the president of the la Federación Malagueña de Peñas expressed his gratitude to Unicaja for signing this agreement, which "becomes a very useful tool for our organisations, facilitating the development of their activities to promote popular culture and social revitalisation".
He also encouraged the different groups that make up this federation to take advantage of the benefits of this agreement, "contributing to its better functioning and directly impacting improvements for its members and Malaga society in general."
Wide range of products
Under this agreement, Unicaja offers this group a wide range of financial and non-financial products and services (accounts, collection and payment management, loans, private banking, digital banking, insurance and pension plans, among others).
The Federación Malagueña de Peñas ‘La Alcazaba’ was created in 1981 through the union of a group of entities in Malaga, most of them with stands at the fairgrounds. Its objectives are to promote and defend the peñas, develop and consolidate a good working spirit throughout its sphere of action, and promote and carry out activities for the benefit of all the entities that form part of the institution.
It has more than a hundred member organisations. Although most of them are located in the city of Malaga, there are also others in municipalities such as Torremolinos, Antequera, Rincón de la Victoria, Alhaurín de la Torre and Teba. In total, it represents a group of around 12,000 people, reaching more than 30,000 Malaga residents, including family members and supporters.
