The 2025 Macael Awards, presented this Friday, November 21st, with the support of Unicaja, recognized the projects and professionals who are setting global trends in the marble industry. In this 38th edition, 20 nominations were submitted, and 10 awards were given to national and international initiatives.
The Macael Awards, organized by the Andalusian Marble Business Association (AEMA), highlight the talent, innovation, and excellence of the professionals and projects that contribute to the growth of an industry that is a global benchmark.
Unicaja's support for these awards reflects its commitment to supporting activities aimed at boosting the business sector and entrepreneurship in its areas of operation, such as Almería and its province.
The international awards recognize projects and professionals from North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, while the other awards acknowledge talent in areas such as sustainability, design and communication, the use of Macael white marble, and national character.
The Institution Award also recognizes the collaboration of entities and individuals who contribute to the development and visibility of the sector.
This year's winners were:
- Communication Award: Focus Piedra, a publication specializing in natural stone.
- Sustainability Award: Port Authority of Almería.
- International North America Award: French Terrakotta Corp. DBA Impression, for Villa Napoli, California (United States).
- International Latin America Award: Palacio de Hierro, León (Mexico).
- International Asia Award: Nagoya Metro Station (Japan).
- International Europe Award: Baltic Infinity, Międzyzdroje (Poland).
- National Award: Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona.
- Institutional Award: Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Andalusian Government.
- Design Award: Ibáñez-Cosentino Art Foundation, for the botanical garden and glyptotheque, City of Culture of Olula del Río (Almería).
- Blanco Macael Award: R&D&I&I Building and Faculty of Medicine of the University of Jaén.
