Unicaja and Club Toledo Monteverde have renewed the agreement under which the bank will continue, for another season, as sponsor of its swimming section, which has nearly four hundred athletes.

The head of Corporate Banking in Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura, Ignacio González Ascarza, and the manager of the Monteverde Club, Diego López Goñi, have signed the new agreement at the Club's headquarters in Toledo.

Unicaja, in its commitment to regional sport, has been collaborating with the Toledo Monteverde Swimming Club since 2017, benefiting the athletes who train and compete in this team, which has become a national reference, especially in its master categories.

In this sense, the Toledo Monteverde Swimming Club is the current champion of the Castilla-La Mancha 2025 Masters League and in 2024 it was proclaimed champion of the Spanish Long-Distance Championship.

With this support, Unicaja contributes to the growth and development of the Club's swimming section, in addition to promoting healthy habits through the practice of sport and thus improving people's quality of life.

Swimming for all ages

The swimming section of Club Monteverde began in 2015 and almost immediately started to achieve important results in the masters category. In 2023, it integrated the Club Natación Toledo, thus guaranteeing a solid team in all categories, from under-8 to Master.

Currently, the club has 242 licensed swimmers and a swimming school with more than 150 students, which reflects its commitment to training, sports development and the promotion of swimming at all ages.

In addition, among other purposes, the Club aims to encourage the practice of physical-sporting activity among the elderly, following healthy guidelines and social cohesion within the team among the different ages and categories and among the rest of the teams.
