Unicaja and the Press Association of Valladolid (APV, Asociación de Prensa de Valladolid) have renewed the agreement under which the financial institution continues as the main sponsor of the Miguel Delibes National Journalism Award, which this year reaches its 29th edition and which highlights the defense of Spanish and its good use in the media.
The award has an economic endowment of 6,000 euros, contributed by Unicaja. In this way, the financial institution reinforces the close relationship it maintains with the APV and, especially, with this contest, to which it has been linked since its creation in 1996.
By sponsoring this important national journalism award, Unicaja demonstrates its firm commitment to the promotion of culture and its strong ties with Valladolid and, in general, with Castilla y León, one of its territories of origin.
Through various initiatives and sponsorships in all the regions where it operates, the bank supports cultural events, the preservation of historical heritage and the promotion of the arts.
For Unicaja, this support not only contributes to the cultural enrichment of society, but also strengthens the country's identity and social fabric. For this reason, it has thanked the Press Association of Valladolid for the confidence it has shown to continue to sponsor the event.
For its part, the Press Association of Valladolid has expressed its satisfaction for the renewal of this long-standing collaboration between both institutions, thanks to which the delivery of a unique award that has become an unmissable annual event in Valladolid is strengthened.
In the next few days, the APV will disclose the rules of the call for this new edition of the Miguel Delibes National Journalism Award, which counts among its extensive list of winners with outstanding figures of literature and journalism.
Miguel Delibes National Journalism Award
On 22 May 1996, the General Assembly of the APV agreed to create the Miguel Delibes National Journalism Award, the only journalism award in Spain specialized in the defense of the Spanish language and its proper use in the media.
Since then, the list of award winners has been completed with works by great journalists from all over Spain, such as Fernando Lázaro Carreter (1996), Álex Grijelmo (1998), José Jiménez Lozano (2000), Juan José Millás (2002), Javier Marías (2003), Andrés Trapiello (2005), Luis María Ansón (2009), Isaías Lafuente (2012), Iñaki Gabilondo (2013), Ignacio Camacho (2014), Pepa Fernández (2015), Martín Caparrós (2016) or Mara Torres (2023). In the last edition, the award went to a collection of radio works to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Radio 5 Todo Noticias (RNE).
