Unicaja is once again collaborating with the Provincial Council of Malaga for the development of cultural activities. Specifically, on this occasion, the financial institution supports two programs ('Sentimiento y tradición' and 'Culturama en Gira 2025') with which to offer the citizens of the province a complete programme, consisting of musical performances, highlighting flamenco and copla; performing arts; exhibitions; initiatives for the promotion of reading, or cultural training, among other aspects.
The support for these activities has materialized in a new agreement, signed by the CEO of Unicaja, Isidro Rubiales, and the president of the Provincial Council of Malaga, Francisco Salado, which comes to strengthen the close relationship between the two institutions.
As pointed out by the CEO of Unicaja, "this agreement responds to our general interest in contributing to the promotion of culture throughout our sphere of action, and especially in Malaga, a province with which we maintain close ties".
"Within the framework of Unicaja's sustainability policy, we understand that investing in culture is also investing in the sustainable development of society," said Rubiales, emphasizing the important work carried out by the Provincial Council and in values that promote cultural initiatives, such as education and social cohesion, which, in turn, contribute to strengthening the economic fabric.
For his part, the president of the Provincial Council of Málaga pointed out the effort made by the institution to "bring culture to every corner of the province, maintain traditions and facilitate and encourage new trends in all artistic disciplines."
Salado explained that, to achieve these goals, it is essential to have allies like Unicaja, demonstrating once again "the effectiveness of collaboration between public administrations and private entities to provide better services to citizens".
Flamenco, copla and other activities
One of the projects with which Unicaja collaborates under this new agreement is 'Sentimiento y tradición', dedicated to the promotion of flamenco and copla, two Andalusian artistic expressions with great acceptance by the Malaga public.
The circuit is organized by the Provincial Council institution, in collaboration with the town halls of the province. Admission is free and meets the needs of municipalities with cultural curiosity, offering an opportunity to local artists, and activating the cultural industry related to the shows, in addition to highlighting the value of folklore.
Regarding 'Culturama en Gira 2025', it contemplates nearly a thousand proposals of different nature, such as musical shows, performing arts, exhibitions, activities to promote reading, cultural training, etcetera.
This program is one of the fundamental instruments of the Provincial Council when it comes to having a catalog of artists, companies, groups and other professionals in the cultural sector.
The proposals, prepared by professionals in the cultural sector, are take place both in the capital and in the province of Malaga, with the aim of having an effective tool that allows both the Provincial Council and the municipalities, to make their own cultural programs.
