Unicaja and Octopus Energy have signed an agreement to bring clean energy to more homes and thus contribute to the energy transition. To this end, the energy company makes its energy services available to customers and employees of the bank, in addition to facilitating access to information and resources to support households in saving on their electricity bills.

This alliance stems from the shared commitment to accelerate the energy transition, accompanying people with information as a strategic lever to boost electrification and improve energy efficiency and sustainability of households.

The Octopus Energy offering is accessible through the Unicaja website, in the 'beneficiaT' section. Currently, the bank's customers can access exclusive offers both when subscribing to electricity and gas tariffs and in the purchase of electric vehicle chargers.

The challenge of sustainability, in all its areas, is assumed by Unicaja as an opportunity for development and improvement in its daily management.  This vision also translates into a specific offering of sustainable financing solutions, such as the Oxygen Mortgage, loans for electric mobility or energy rehabilitation and specific products for the sustainable agri-food sector, among others.

Unicaja's Head of Digital and Remote Banking, Joaquín Sevilla, pointed out that "in the current context in which energy efficiency and sustainability are a priority for households, companies and institutions, Unicaja is committed to offering the best solutions that adapt to people's needs. Our alliance with Octopus Energy helps us to advance in this direction. In addition, the bank has assumed an active and transversal role, incorporating ESG criteria (environmental, social and governance) into its management strategy and is promoting a transformation that combines responsibility, innovation and vision for the future."

For its part, Octopus Energy is revolutionizing the electricity market in Spain with initiatives designed to empower people in energy-related decision-making. As a result of this objective, the company, which has surpassed 350,000 customers in Spain, has developed various energy saving and responsible consumption initiatives in recent months.

The CEO of Octopus Energy España, Roberto Giner, has indicated that "energy and finance are two great pillars in the life of any home. This alliance with Unicaja allows us to bring energy savings to more people, with the confidence and capillarity of an entity that shares our values. Together we want to make the difficult easy: that any family can switch to green energy, without complications and without overpaying".

With this agreement, Unicaja reinforces its commitment to energy efficiency and expands its position as an entity that promotes responsible investments. Through the collaboration with Octopus Energy, customers and employees of the financial institution will not only benefit from a reduction in their electricity bill, but will also be able to increase the value of their homes by improving their energy efficiency.

The alliance was born with a clear and long-term proposal: to accompany people in their transition to a more efficient energy model, through information, advice and accessible services. In the future, it is planned to expand this collaboration with new joint initiatives that reinforce the shared commitment of both entities to education, innovation and the promotion of responsible energy decisions.
