Unicaja continues to support the work carried out by the Association of Businesswomen of the Province of Almeria (Almur). In the framework of this close collaboration, the project 'Breakfast with Almur' has been organized, a program of talks-colloquium whose first session took place last Thursday, 25 September, under the title ‘Mujeres que emprenden, voces que inspiran’.
The aim of this initiative, consisting of two working meetings (the next one will take place on 18 December), is to promote female leadership and the empowerment of businesswomen. To this end, a colloquium is organized between businesswomen from the province of Almeria, who, in a close and participatory environment, share their achievements, difficulties and experiences.
This first meeting, held at the Centro Cultural Fundación Unicaja de Almería, was attended by Dolores Gómez Ferrón, CEO of Clisol Turismo Agrícola, and María Dolores Morales, head of the company Biosabor. Both of the them are Almeria businesswomen with extensive professional experience and business experience.
The day was enlivened with the performance of the artist Beatriz Gómez, pianist, teacher and cultural disseminator, with a solid background in piano performance and music pedagogy.
On behalf of Unicaja, this talk was attended by the regional manager of Eastern Andalusia, Juan Cayuela, and the head of People - South, María Vidal.
The initiative is part of the alliance between Unicaja and Almur, materialized in an agreement, which has the general purpose of strengthening the business network led by women, facilitating access to financing and supporting initiatives that promote the social economic development of the province of Almería.
In addition to promoting female leadership, the purpose of these meetings is to generate collaboration networks among consolidated businesswomen and entrepreneurs, to make visible female referents in the business world and to promote co-responsibility, diversity and sustainability as axes for the future of business, as well as to bring Almur's activity closer to society.
The collaboration between both institutions constitutes a firm commitment to equal opportunities and to a sustainable and inclusive growth, in which women and men contribute, under equal conditions, to common progress.
Commitment to equality
Unicaja is firmly committed to supporting businesswomen, recognizing their fundamental role in economic and social development. For this reason, the bank offers them financial solutions, training and specialized advice, with the aim of promoting female entrepreneurship and fostering equal opportunities in the business world.
For Unicaja, equality is a fundamental pillar, and, in the exercise of its Sustainability and Diversity policies, it has an Equality Plan, from which equal opportunities between men and women are reinforced as one of the traditional values of the bank.
It also contemplates the application of specific measures that promote the balanced assumption of responsibilities and favor the job and family life balance of its employees.
All this contributes to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to which the entity is committed, specifically, 'Gender Equality (SDG 5) and 'Reducing Inequalities' (SDG 10).
