The Brotherhood of Santísimo Cristo de la Salud y de las Aguas y Ánimas de San Juan de Antequera (Malaga) will celebrate, on Sunday, September 14th, with the support of Unicaja, a pontifical mass to commemorate the 350th anniversary of its founding.
The Eucharist will take place at the parish church of San Juan Bautista in the town and will be presided over by the Bishop Emeritus of Málaga, Jesús Catalá. It will feature a sacred polyphonic work composed by José Molina, titled Misa cordis (Latin for “Mass of the Heart”). The piece will be performed by the Arsis orchestra and the Ciudad de Antequera choir, under the direction of Manuel Ruiz Campos.
This pontifical mass is one of the initiatives marking the anniversary of the Brotherhood’s foundation, adding to a series of events held throughout the year in honor of the Señor de la Salud y de las Aguas, patron of Antequera.
Unicaja’s support for this initiative is part of the institution’s efforts to promote, disseminate, and foster the traditions of Antequera and the life of its brotherhoods, which serve as custodians of social, religious, cultural, and historical-artistic values, and as generators of social, cultural, and charitable activity.
