Unicaja has become an official sponsor of the XIV Asempal Awards, granted by the Confederación Empresarial de la Provincia de Almería (Asempal), which recognize the work of leading companies in the province and their contribution to the development and economic growth of Almeria.

With these awards, established in 2007, Asempal distinguishes the effort and determination of business owners and companies, their social commitment, their investment drive and the creation of jobs and generation of wealth. The XIV Asempal Awards will be held on 17 October 2025.

The sponsorship agreement has been signed by Unicaja’s regional manager in Eastern Andalusia, Juan Cayuela, and the president of Asempal, Cecilio Peregrín.

This initiative is part of the close relationship that both entities have maintained for years, in permanent collaboration with actions that facilitate the activity of companies and the economic development of the province.

Support for the business sector

This agreement with Asempal is part of the support that Unicaja provides to the business sector and its interest in promoting and facilitating the economic development of the areas where it operates and, specifically, of Almería and its province, one of the bank’s main areas of activity.

Unicaja is working to consolidate its position as a main player for the business community, to which it offers a complete range of products and services. In addition, under this agreement, Unicaja sets as a goal to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen employment in its traditional areas of operation.

The commitment to SMEs and the self-employed is part of its activity as a financial institution focused on the retail and proximity banking business. In fact, these professionals continue to play a key role in its financing policy as key groups for the revitalization of the economy.
