Unicaja has signed an agreement with the General Foundation of the University of Salamanca to collaborate in Las Noches de Fonseca, the summer cultural programme of this academic institution, which will begin on 3 July. The agreement was signed by the director of the foundation, Óscar González Benito, and the Unicaja’s regional manager in Castilla y León, Manuel Rubio.

This programme is aimed at disseminating culture and promoting artistic activities, and is open to members of the university community as well as the rest of Salamanca's society.

The activities of this cycle will have six major events this year, which will take place in the emblematic courtyard of the Colegio Mayor arzobispo Fonseca during the month of July, as well as an exhibition that will be on display until September.

This year's agenda includes the theatrical representation of The Orestiada, by Aeschylus; a concert by La Bien Querida; the staging of Numancia, a play by Miguel Cervantes, and Macbeth, by William Shakespeare. Finally, the ballet Carmen, by Antonio Gades and Carlos Saura, will be presented by the Antonio Gades Foundation, and finally the production Medea, by George Benda, will be staged.

Parallel to the shows, the Salamanca public will be able to attend the exhibition Juanma Carrillo: poderes extraños, an exhibition that will be open until 7 September, in the exhibition hall of the Hospedería Fonseca.

Tickets for all the shows can be purchased at Mercatus, the official store of the University, and one hour before each performance at the box office in the courtyard of the Colegio arzobispo Fonseca, provided they have not been sold out beforehand.

This collaboration reinforces Unicaja's long-standing relationship with the University of Salamanca and its General Foundation, to which it is linked as a Friend Company. Among other initiatives, the bank is part of the Cátedra Escuela de Salamanca, a forum for study and debate with business owners and academics to analyze relevant issues in the business field. It also supports the Cum Laude Young Talent Awards, which recognize the best academic records, and participates in the student internship program.
