Unicaja collaborates with the Asociación de Mujeres Empresarias de la Provincia de Almería (Almur) in the celebration of two colloquiums with the aim of promoting female leadership and empowerment of female business owners.
The project 'Desayuna con Almur' ('Breakfast with Almur'), which will take place between October and December, consists of two talks-colloquiums between a businesswoman associated with Almur and a renowned guest, followed by a networking meeting.
In addition to promoting female leadership, the goal of these meetings is to generate collaboration networks between consolidated businesswomen and entrepreneurs, to make female referents in the business world visible, to promote co-responsibility, diversity and sustainability as axes for the future of business and to bring Almur's activity closer to the people.
This collaboration has been made effective by the signing of an agreement by Unicaja's regional manager for Eastern Andalusia, Juan Cayuela, and the president of Almur, Amalia Salvador.
This initiative is part of the support that the financial institution provides to the business community and within its interest in promoting and facilitating the economic development of the areas where it operates and, in particular, of Almería and its province, one of its main areas of operation.
Unicaja's commitment to equality
Unicaja is firmly committed to supporting women business owners, recognizing their fundamental role in economic and social development. For this reason, the bank offers them financial solutions, training and specialized advice, with the aim of promoting female entrepreneurship and fostering equal opportunities in the business world.
For Unicaja, equality is a fundamental pillar. For this reason, and as part of its Sustainability and Diversity policies, it has an Equality Plan, which reinforces equal opportunities between men and women as one of the bank’s traditional values. It also contemplates the application of specific measures that promote the balanced assumption of responsibilities and favor the reconciliation of work and family life of its employees.
All this contributes to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to which the bank is committed, specifically, 'Gender Equality (SDG 5) and 'Reducing Inequalities' (SDG 10).
