Unicaja collaborates with “Creando Sinergia”: a unique experience for more than one hundred clarinet students from Asturias and Cantabria

The students participate in the rehearsals and concerts of the “Proeycto CRESI 2025: Legados y nuevos horizontes”, in Gijón, Santander and Avilés

More than one hundred clarinet students, coming from different conservatories and music schools in Asturias and Cantabria, gather these days to participate in an annual meeting in which they will live the experience of performing live in several concerts, accompanied by several percussionists. An initiative that, under the title “Creando Sinergia” (CRESI) has had with the collaboration of Unicaja.

 

The first of these concerts was held this Sunday at the Teatro de la Laboral in Gijón. Next, on 6 April, the Palacio de Festivales de Santander will host another performance and the experience will end on 11 April, at the Casa de Cultura de Avilés.

 

"Creando Sinergia" is an educational innovation project, originated in the Superior and Professional Conservatories of Oviedo, which aims to familiarize students with ensemble playing, to encourage cooperative work, coexistence between students of different levels and to enhance the enthusiasm for music from the practice with the clarinet.

 

In this sense, to prepare for the performances, the students have rehearsed together for several days. Previously, during the course, they had prepared the works in their corresponding conservatories and schools.

 

A total of thirteen educational centers are participating in the project: the Professional Conservatories of Oviedo, Avilés, Gijón, Valdés, Valle del Nalón, Santander and Torrelavega, the Music Schools of Candás-Carreño, Gijón, Mieres and Corvera and the Oviedo Conservatory of Music.

 

Legacies and new horizons

 

CRESI 2025 will be the ninth edition of a program that, so far, has been directed by Alberto Veintimilla Bonet, the architect of the project, who will continue to be part of the collaborating group with his students of the clarinet ensemble of CONSMUPA, the musical basis of Creando Sinergia. In his place, Xuacu Llaneza García, clarinet teacher of the Municipal School of Music of Corvera, assumes the artistic direction, supported by the technical direction of the teachers of the Professional Conservatory “Anselmo González del Valle” of Oviedo.

 

On this occasion, the event is entitled “Legacies and New Horizons” and includes works, both from previous editions and new additions, worked especially for “CRESI 2025”:

  • Voice of vikings, by Michael Geisler (1979-)
  • Danse Macabre, by Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921)
  • The Typewriter, by Leroy Anderson (1908-1975)
  • Bohemian Rhapsody, by Queen (Arr. M. Walton)
  • Clarinet Candy, by Leroy Anderson (1908-1975)
  • Clarilatino, by Aras White
  • The Pirates of the Caribbean, by Klaus Badelt (1967 –) and Hans Zimmer (1957-) (Arr. Steven Verhaert)

 

Different institutions collaborate in this project, such as the Regional Ministry of Education of the Principado de Asturias and the Regional Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Universities of Cantabria and the Town Halls of Carreño, Gijón, Santander, Avilés, Mieres, Corvera, Valdés and the Mancomunidad del Nalón.
