The Edufinet Project, financial education program promoted by Fundación Unicaja and Unicaja, holds in Malaga next week, from 13 to 15 November, its 7th Financial Education Congress, sponsored by Funcas Educa. The central focus of this event, which will take place at the Fundación Unicaja Cultural Center (Plaza del Obispo, 6), will revolve, on this occasion, around the key role of financial education and cybersecurity, as key elements to address the opportunities and challenges posed by the new digital era.
This congress, aimed mainly at academics, professionals and representatives of public and private institutions, is also open to the general public, who can also access the event via streaming, through its website, www.edufinetcongress.es, with free registration.
Under the title 'Financial Education and Cybersecurity: keys for the new digital era', in line with the slogan of this year's Financial Education Day, Edufinet aims, with this congress, to highlight the importance of training citizens in economics and finance, as well as in cybersecurity and online environment, especially in the current context of increasing digitization and the emergence of new technological developments in the financial sector, to promote their financial and digital inclusion.
In this sense, Edufinet focuses on the need to provide society as a whole with the necessary knowledge and to contribute to improving their financial and digital skills and competencies, so that they can benefit from the advantages and opportunities offered by this new scenario, while at the same time being able to detect and prevent the risks it also entails.
Analysis forum on financial education
Once again this year, this Congress will serve as a meeting point for nearly 40 experts in these matters, who will address the relevance and positive contribution of financial education in the current framework of digital transformation of society, the economy and finance, paying special attention to the necessary security and prevention in the field of cybersecurity. It will also be an interesting forum for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, which will allow to identify and share trends and points of interest, in order to enhance the effectiveness of financial education programs and, therefore, to promote and improve the financial and digital culture of society in general, as well as of certain groups in particular.
Over the course of 14 sessions and five colloquiums, the challenges currently facing financial education will be analyzed over three days, in a context of growing digitalization and constant technological advances and their impact on the social, economic and financial levels. In this way, the congress invites to reflect on the opportunities and risks that this new scenario of technological transformation poses to citizens, with special attention to their security in the digital environment and the prevention of possible fraud and cyber-attacks.
In this line, a wide range of current topics will be addressed, related to financial education, the digital environment and economy or cybersecurity, as well as others of a more general nature, linked to the actions developed in the field of financial education (the different groups to which they are addressed, their scope or areas) and the economic context, among other aspects.
Specifically, in terms of financial education and cybersecurity, the topics to be discussed will include, among others, financial education, attention to the elderly, fraud, regulation, the keys to safe and responsible consumption, as well as digital skills for cell phones. Also the relationship between financial education and new technological realities such as artificial intelligence (AI), its ethics and regulation; the new digital currencies promoted by Central Banks (CBDC); or the impact of online games on the financial education of young people.
From a general perspective, other relevant aspects of financial education will also be reviewed, such as its current situation and evolution during this century; its contribution at early ages, in the elderly and in certain groups such as athletes; the effects of financial behaviors and cognitive biases; persuasion in digital finance, as well as financial inclusion in means of payment.
