Unicaja and Club Toledo Monteverde have renewed the agreement under which the financial institution will continue, for another season, as sponsor of its swimming section.

Unicaja’s head of Business Banking Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura, Ignacio González Ascarza, and the manager of the Monteverde Club, Manuel Fernandez-Pacheco, signed the new agreement this Thursday at the Club's headquarters in Toledo.

Unicaja, in its commitment to regional sports, has been collaborating with the Toledo Monteverde Swimming Club since 2017, benefiting a total of 223 athletes who train and compete in this team, which has become a national benchmark, especially in its masters’ categories.

Among other purposes, this collaboration intends to promote the practice of physical-sports activities among the elderly, following healthy guidelines and social cohesion within the team among the different age groups and categories and among the rest of the teams.

With this support, Unicaja contributes to the growth and development of the Club's swimming section, in addition to promoting healthy habits through the practice of sport and thus improving people's quality of life.

Club Toledo Monteverde: a benchmark in swimming

The swimming section of the Monteverde Club began in 2015 with 35 athletes and almost immediately began to reap important results in the masters’ category. In 2023 it integrated the Toledo Swimming Club, thus reinforcing its absolute and children's categories. Currently, the team is made up of 223 licensed athletes.

Among their most recent titles are the World Championship in Qatar, where they have been champions for the third consecutive year in the open water event with Jaime Marques, or the runner-up in Japan with Patricia Gonzalez.

During this year they have participated in different international, national and regional competitions in the masters’ category, in addition to the Spanish championships in the absolute category and the participation of the junior category in a large number of regional competitions with outstanding results.
