Unicaja collaborates again with Estival Cuenca 2024, which returns, in its thirteenth edition, to fill the streets of the old town of the city with music and art. It is a festival that will take place between Wednesday 26 June and Saturday 6 July and has been presented on Tuesday in one of its most emblematic scenarios, the Parador de Cuenca.
The director of the festival, Marco Antonio de la Ossa, along with institutional representatives and sponsors, has presented the program for this edition, in which 26 different groups and soloists will participate. The festival consists of 21 concerts and takes place in 13 different spaces. On behalf of Unicaja, the presentation was attended by head of Commercial Banking in Castilla-La Mancha, Almudena Noheda, who stressed "the satisfaction of collaborating with an event that we support since its inception and that we have seen evolve and grow, year by year".
"Our commitment to projects like this is part of Unicaja's sustainability strategy and the commitment we maintain with the areas where we operate, in this case, supporting cultural initiatives as important as this one, and also in Cuenca, where our bank has great roots," he added.
Estival Cuenca, a music and art cycle that began in 2012, shows in its extensive program a remarkable variety of activities aimed at all audiences and located in places of great beauty in the old town of Cuenca, a World Heritage City, such as the Parador de Cuenca or the stage of the Cloister of the Patio de la Limosna of the Cathedral of Cuenca, among other locations.
For its musical program, it combines live performances of great artists of the national and international jazz scene, world music, flamenco, roots music, soul, funk or singer-songwriter, among many other styles, as well as concerts of groups from Cuenca, with the aim of promoting local music.
In this 2024 edition, the performances of Andrés Suárez, Rayden, Isabel Villanueva & Ingmar Lazar, Alfredo Rodríguez Quartet, Israel Fernández, or the young Paula Serrano from Cuenca stand out. In addition to Salvador Sobral, who will be awarded the 'Manuel Margeliza' 2024 prize, the violist Isabel Villanueva, who will receive the Solán de Cabras Award for Musical Career and María José Llergo, who will receive another of the festival's awards, in this case, the first edition of the José Luis Perales Young Talent Award.
