The Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja and Fundación Unicaja, has brought financial education to more than 350 people belonging to different groups in the world of sports in Andalusia (specifically, 240 in person and 116 online), thanks to the collaboration agreement with the Asociación de Periodistas Deportivos de Málaga (APDM, Malaga Association of Sport Journalists).

Both institutions have developed, through the program 'Financial Education in Sport', several training sessions in different parts of the province of Malaga, held from September 2023 until 19 March, with the aim of strengthening and expanding the financial knowledge of people related to the world of sport, such as players, referees, youth teams and even parents.

In this sense, the Edufinet Project, in collaboration with the APDM, has carried out a total of five talks-colloquiums on financial education, given by members of the Edufinet team with the participation of prominent sports journalists, both in person and online, to different groups that practice sports such as football or handball. In addition, the Andalusian Sports Institute, the Andalusian Handball Federation, the Andalusian Football Federation and the Official College of Referees of Malaga have collaborated in the celebration of these training sessions.

The aim of these talks was to provide athletes with basic notions and skills that will contribute to better financial management, both at an institutional and personal level and, in the latter case, also in their sports career, as well as to facilitate future decision-making in the economic, financial and tax fields.

This agreement, which is part of the agreement signed with Funcas Educa, responds to Edufinet's usual support to the world of sports, as well as its interest in promoting the importance of financial culture in the field of sports, aware of its increasing importance in society and in the training, especially of young people.

Edufinet has developed these workshops through its financial education and sports initiative, Edufisport (www.edufisport.edufinet.com), which was born in 2020, with the aim of extending its work of dissemination and promotion of financial education to the field of sports. From its website, enabled in Edufinet(www.edufinet.com), it aims to respond, through a wide variety of contents, to the needs and concerns of athletes and of those interested in the financial world. Thus, users can find in this space from different articles on sports and finances to diverse multimedia material.
