San Martín de la Vega, a town in Madrid, has held, with the sponsorship of Unicaja Banco, its second Farinato Race, with the same success of the past edition, with more than 2.000 participants. It has been organized on 1 and 2 October with different routes and participation categories: 13 and 7 kilometres, initiation, young people and families.
More than 80% of participants were from Community of Madrid, although other regions has been represented too, like Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha o Andalusia. Moreover, the amount of women has grown this edition, reaching almost 40%.
The Farinato Race competitions take place in extremely tough terrain with a variety of obstacles that test the skills, ability, limits and capacity for self-improvement of the participants. Trenches, a straight wall, fences or handrail, in addition to a large amount of mud, have been some of the obstacles that participants had to face.
The event will be streamed and there will be a giant LED screen and food trucks fair to liven up the day.
Promotion of sport and its values
Unicaja Banco collaborates with this initiative with the will to bring all kind of sport and leisure activities closer to the general public and to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle.
San Martín de la Vega's Farinato Race is the fourth race of the 2022 calendar of events, after taken place in Oviedo, Ponferrada and Mérida. The circuit will conclude in Mairena del Aljarafe (Sevilla, 5 and 6 November), with the sponsorship of Unicaja Banco too.
