Unicaja's Edufinet Project joins one more year the celebration on Monday, 3 October, of the Financial Education Day, an initiative fostered by the Plan de Educación Financiera (PEF, Financial Education Plan), with the participation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, the Bank of Spain the National Securities Market Commission (Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores, CNMV) and associations and institutions from all the sectors. This year the goal is to bring the concepts of secure financing and investment closer to the different demographics.
With this purpose and with the general objective of raising awareness of the importance of finances in daily life, the Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja, has organized a series of activities, which will be carried out both in person and online.
The programme of activities for the week includes lectures, webinars, the presentation of new books and the annual meeting of the Edufinet Project, which will take stock of the actions carried out during the last academic year and report on those planned for 2022-2023.
On Thursday 6, with interventions by representatives of the Bank of Spain, the CNMV, Funcas, Fundación Unicaja, Unicaja Banco and the Edufinet Project itself, focus will be on the importance of education to achieve secure finances, which is precisely the slogan of this year’s Financial Education Day, an initiative that has been held since 2015.
After this event, which will be held at the Unicaja Center for Financial Education in Malaga, members of the Edufinet team will present the 14th Lectures on Financial Education for Young People (secondary and high school students), the 14th Financial Olympics and the 5th Edufinet Congress.
Activities
Edufinet will start its Financial Education Week with a webinar on Monday, 3 October, on security in cryptocurrency transactions. The streaming will be at 2 p.m. on its YouTube channel.
On Tuesday 4, from 11.00 a.m., a talk on cybercrime will take place at the Unicaja Financial Education Center, with the participation of agents from the National Police Force and members of Unicaja Banco's Cybersecurity Department. The next day, Wednesday 5, at 11.00 am, there will be lectures about innovation in banking and cloud security, with the collaboration of Aula 42 of Fundación Telefónica. This activity will be held at the headquarters of Aula 42, in Complejo Tabacalera in Malaga (Avenida de Sor Teresa Prat, 15, edificio E3).
On Thursday 6, from 11.00 a.m., at the Unicaja Center for Financial Education, the annual meeting of Edufinet will be held and the new publications edited by the Project will be presented.
Then, in the same place, at 12.30 p.m., there will be a presentation of the 14th Lectures on Financial Education for Young People, the 14th Financial Olympics and the 5th Edufinet Financial Education Congress. Finally, the programme will end on Friday 7 with the publication on EdufiBlog of a post on secure finances.
