Edufinet Project joins the Financial Education Day with several activities

Members of the team have given a lecture on financial education for baccalaureate students, with focus on sustainable finance, circular economy and some financial products and services

The Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja, joins one more year the celebration today, 4 October, of the Financial Education Day, an initiative promoted this year under the motto ‘Your finances, also sustainable’, fostered by the Bank of Spain and the National Securities Market Commission (Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores, CNMV) in order to raise awareness on the importance of financial literacy. For that purpose, Edufinet has organized several activities, both online and in person, to be developed until next Friday.

 

The activities have started today Monday with an event hosted at Unicaja Center for Financial Education in Malaga, with the participation of the Head of the Edufinet Project, José M. Domínguez –who has talked about the history and challenges of this initiative-, the General Manager of Fundación Unicaja, Sergio Corral –who has focused on the importance of financial literacy, analyzing the current situation and trends-, and the Head of Sustainability and CSR at Unicaja Banco, José María López –who has talked about the role of sustainable finance in financial education-.

 

The event has been streamed online on the Edufinet Project’s YouTube channel, and the Head of Financial Education at Grupo Unicaja, José Antonio Díaz, has presented the activities scheduled for this week, which are aimed at teaching citizens to make sound financial decisions.

 

 

Lecture on financial education

             

After the above mentioned talks, members of the Edufinet team have given a lecture on financial education for baccalaureate students, with focus on sustainable finance, circular economy and some financial products and services.

 

The Lectures on Financial Education for Young People and the Financial Olympics will be presented on Tuesday 5, also via streaming on YouTube, at 10:30. These activities reach their 13th edition and will take place between October and March, with the goal of providing students with a clear view of the world of economics and finance. The 5th Lectures on Financial Education for Vocational Training Students will also take place this school year.

           

On Wednesday 6, from 10:30 and via streaming, the 4th Edufinet Financial Education Congress will be presented, with information on the agenda, topics, speakers, moderators and participants in this event, which will be held in person and online on 17, 18 and 19 November, under the theme ‘Financial Education for a time of paradigm shift’.

 

Regarding the rest of activities planned to commemorate the Financial Education Day, on Thursday 7, at 10:30, Edufinet will present on YouTube its new web portal, EdufiAgro, to strengthen the importance of financial knowledge in the agricultural sector.

 

Finally, on Friday 8, from 10:30, Edufinet will present, via streaming on YouTuve, the Workshops on Financial Education for Primary Education Students, which will start during this school year, as well as of a videogame aimed at those pupils too.
