Unicaja Banco’s sponsorship of Costa del Soul falls within the collaboration agreement that the bank entered into with the County Council and which reflects the financial institution’s interest in contributing to the promotion of culture and sports in the province of Malaga, as well as of social initiatives fostering, among other goals, gender equality.

The President of Malaga County Council and Mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado, the Councilor for Culture, Víctor González, the General Manager of Turismo y Planificación Costa del Sol, Arturo Bernal; the Councilor for Tourism of Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall, Antonio José Martín; together with the representative of Malaga Hospitality Business Owners Association (Mahos), Jesús Martín; Sergio García, from the promoter Costa del Jazz, and singer and promoter of this initiative, Javier Ojeda, presented the festival today.

The free concerts will start at 20:00. Friday 21 June will see the performance in Rincón de la Victoria, in Playa del Túnel, of Wasabi Cru, The Agapornis y Aurora & The Betrayers; Saturday 22 will feature Martha High & The Soul Cookers, Ogun Afrobeat and Shirley Davis & The Silverback; and Sunday 23, Javier Ojeda Soul Project, Gibson Brothers and Julia Martín.

People from Rincón de la Victoria will be able to enjoy this festival, which will be held at the same time in other two coastal cities. This is a unique opportunity not only to enjoy live music in a unique setting, but also to visit some paths of Senda Litoral (Malaga Coastal Path), the County Council project to join by walkways or bridges those areas where there are no promenades.

The festival will also be held on the same dates at Plaza de la Mezquita in Benalmádena (Arroyo de la Miel), at 20:00, and at Estepona promenade (next to Peseta monument), at 21:00. In short, three days, three simultaneous scenarios, ten international bands and 27 concerts.

The goal is for the festival to run through all the municipalities of Senda Litoral in successive editions, thus serving to increase the province’s cultural offer and, at the same time, contribute to the touristic promotion of Malaga Coastal Path and the municipalities it runs through.

On the other hand, thanks to the company Turismo y Planificación Costa del Sol, depending on Malaga County Council, a group of specialized journalists will visit the festival to promote in their publications the potential of Costa del Sol in the music scene.

The project is coordinated by Javier Ojeda, Jesús Sánchez and Sergio García, partners of Costa del Soul, and by the promoter Costa del Jazz, with years of experience in this kind of events, as they organize the Malaga Open Jazz Festival. It is fostered by Malaga Provincial Council, through the Delegación de Cultura y Turismo Costa del Sol, it is sponsored by Unicaja Banco and counts on the collaboration of town halls and of the associations Aehcos, Mahos and Aeplayas.
