Students of Secondary Education (Educación Secundaria Obligatoria, ESO) of the Sagrada Familia School in Malaga have attended the III Course on Financial Education, given by Unicaja through the Edufinet Project.
The goal of this training activity is to promote financial education among young people, by teaching in an easy to understand manner the basic economic and financial concepts, in order to facilitate their use in their daily life and when making financial decisions in the future.
The Edufinet course, promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja, has been divided into three sessions of one hour each, where the keys to understand finances and the economy have been explained.
The sessions have covered the main concepts of the financial products and services which are most popular among young people, as well as the family budget and basic economic and financial indicators, analyzing the tools that are required to make decisions on those topics. Students have taken a test on general financial knowledge before and after the course, to assess their level.
As in the rest of the Edufinet Project activities, the goal of this course is to enhance literacy on economics and finances, putting the stress on daily life elements, so as to provide Secondary Education students with the skills required for their use. It also intends to raise awareness on the importance of acquiring a certain level of knowledge to face the challenges that they may encounter during their lives.
