Club Voleibol Unicaja Almería wins its eleventh Copa del Rey

Unicaja Almería became last Saturday the Champion of the 44th Edition of the Copa del Rey de Voleibol, winning its eleventh Copa del Rey, held in Melilla. Unicaja Almería beat CV Teruel 2-3 (25-18, 14-25, 25-20, 20-25 y 10-15) in the ‘tie-break’.

The game began evenly matched, with both teams taking risks in serves to put pressure on the opponent, and the first set ended with Teruel winning 25-17.

 

It did not take long for Unicaja Almería to react strongly in the second set, and the third set was intense and close, with opportunities for both teams until the technical time-out. CV Teruel made its best to win the fourth set, but Unicaja Almería managed to even the score and forced the tie-break.

 

Therefore the match would be decided in the tie-break, where Unicaja Almería arrived in better conditions and with momentum, especially in blocking, and it stopped all the offense actions of its rival and reached a clear 7-12, which ended in a 10-15 win.

 

Unicaja Almería continues with its trajectory as the best Andalusian club of all times, with 29 national titles in its more than 30 years playing at the highest level and as part of the elite of the European volleyball.
