The speaker develops his philanthropic work since 1962 through the charity ‘Mensajeros por la Paz’ (Messengers of Peace), with several solidarity initiatives in Spain and other 49 countries.
Unicaja Banco organizes in Soria a lecture given by Father Ángel, founder and president of the charity Messengers of Peace. The lecture, with the title La solidaridad es patrimonio de todos, will be held on Wednesday 14 December at Aula Magna Tirso de Molina in Soria, at 19.30.
Ángel García Rodríguez, known as Father Ángel, founded Messengers of Peace in 1962, as a charity committed to the creation of homes for children and young people deprived of a family environment or who have been abandoned.
Over the years, the NGO expanded its activities to other vulnerable social sectors: women who are victims of domestic violence, people with physical or mental disabilities, and the elderly living in solitude, abandonment or indigence. It has a staff or nearly 3,900 employees and more than 4,000 volunteers. Some 51,000 children and young people have stayed at its centers and nearly 12,000 old people have received assistance at its nursing homes.
Messengers of Peace develops its activity in 50 countries and has been awarded, inter alia, with the Princess of Asturias Award of Concord.
An invitation is required to access the lectures, and these can be collected at Unicaja Banco branches.
