Unicaja Banco becomes one of the main sponsors of Sierra Nevada (Granada) ski and mountain resort, following an agreement entered into with the company responsible for its management, Cetursa.

Unicaja Banco’s sponsorship of one of the most visited ski and mountain resorts in Spain falls within its interest in supporting the productive fabric and the sectors driving the economic development and job creation, both in Andalusia in general and in the Granada province in particular. It also reinforces the bank’s support to tourism, sports and the environment

 

Unicaja Banco becomes official sponsor of Sierra Nevada (Granada) ski and mountain resort –managed by the public company Cetursa-, following an agreement under which the financial institution will sponsor the ski resort and the sporting and cultural activities organized there during the summer.

 

Unicaja Banco’s sponsorship of Sierra Nevada ski and mountain resort, one of the most visited in Spain, reflects its interest in reinforcing its support to the productive fabric and the sectors driving the economic development and job creation, both in Andalusia in general and in the Granada province in particular. It also outlines the bank’s support to the promotion of tourism and sports.

 

With the agreement, Unicaja Banco fosters the respect to the environment, as Sierra Nevada is a protected natural area and biosphere reserve, and it contributes to the development of actions aimed at the protection of this natural space.

 

Other activities of Unicaja Banco in Granada

 

This support by Unicaja Banco to the economic, sporting, touristic and cultural life of Granada, reinforcing its economic and business fabric, is reflected also in other initiatives where the bank collaborates, such as the Ultra Sierra Nevada race, the event on entrepreneurship Alhambra Venture or the Lorca Route. All of that, in addition to the usual financial activity of Unicaja Banco in the province, an important area of action for the bank and with which it has a long-standing link, within Unicaja Banco’s presence as a financial institution of reference in Andalusia.

 

Sierra Nevada ski and mountain resort

 

With regard to Sierra Nevada ski and mountain resort, the 2017-2018 season has been one of the longest in recent years, recording 1,053,748 users, 887,017 of which were skiers. These figures consolidate its leadership in the sector, being one of the most visited ski resorts in Spain.

 

However, activities in the resort are not limited to the winter season. In fact, it remains open during summer months, when it offers alternative leisure activities, thus contributing to employment creation and wealth generation throughout the year. Summer activities include astro-tourism, ecotourism, hiking, sports in nature, bike park, cultural events and the use of ski-lifts.
