Unicaja Banco has organized a series of lectures on motivation, personal growth and reality transformation. The talks will be given in Valladolid (6 November), Salamanca (7 November) and León (8 November) by Miriam Fernández, who gained notoriety after winning one of the editions of the TV program Tú sí que vales. Since then, she participates in several artistic projects and cultivates her role as speaker showing her example of fight and optimism across the country.

When she was born, Miriam Fernández was diagnosed with cerebral palsy which would prevent her from walking, and she has put for adoption. However, her will, optimism and the support of her new family made her walk with the help of a walker and her dreams of being a singer and actor have fulfilled.

Her childhood was not easy, and she was bullied at school because of her physical differences. But she soon learnt that the only way to move forward was to accept herself and that, although we cannot change the reality, we can change the way we face it. She now thinks that there are no limits to reach something if you really wish it.

At 12 she was Spanish champion of swimming and later she decided to focus on her true passion, music, and she won the second edition of the TV program Tú sí que vales, a competition which gave her a big notoriety.

Then came the recording of a CD, called Bailando bajo la lluvia, and she performed in Spain, Mexico or Miami. She has also participated, with several artists, in the recording of a musical project called Algo más que una canción. She is currently working on her second album.

In 2014, the theater company Blanca Marsillach included her among its actors, playing in theaters as La Latina or Fernando Fernán Gómez. After touring Spain and collaborating with the Spanish National Drama Center or with TV series, Miriam has started to write her own micro-theater plays.

Motivation and overcoming personal fears

Nowadays she combines her artistic activity with lectures on motivation for companies, schools, universities and social events. In her lectures, with her example of fight and constant development, she inspires, motivates and helps many people to overcome their fears, to believe in themselves and to see life in a more optimistic and brave way with a great touch of humor.

An invitation is required to access the lectures, and these can be collected at Unicaja Banco branches. The lectures will take place on 6 November, at 19:30, in the Fundos auditorium (plaza de Fuente Dorada, Valladolid), on 7 November, at the same time, at Teatro Unicaja Banco (plaza de Santa Teresa, Salamanca); and on 8 November, also at 19:30, in the conference hall of Santa Nonia (calle Santa Nonia, León). Entry to the venues is subject to the venue capacity.
