In the event, organized by the Department of Knowledge, Research and Universities (Consejería de Conocimiento, Investigación y Universidad) of the Government of Andalusia, through Fundación Andalucía Emprende, Unicaja Banco has participated in the ceremony of the awards Andalucía Emprende, as well as in one of the nine corners set up to give advice to entrepreneurs. The bank has presented its main financing products with special conditions for entrepreneurs.
The collaboration of Unicaja Banco falls within the support that the bank gives to the business fabric and within its interest to promote entrepreneurship in Andalusia, as well as to facilitate the economic boost and to support job creation in the areas where it operates.
Unicaja Banco reinforces its support to entrepreneurship as an economic driver in Andalusia by participating one more year as partner in the Entrepreneur’s Day (Día de la Persona Emprendedora en Andalucía), whose twelfth edition has been held today in Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz).
Organized by the Department of Knowledge, Research and Universities (Consejería de Conocimiento, Investigación y Universidad) of the Government of Andalusia, through Fundación Andalucía Emprende, this Day is regarded as the main event on entrepreneurship in Andalusia. This year, it has focused on subjects such as energy efficiency and innovation applied to the environment, Big Data, digital transformation in SMEs, internationalization or women’s entrepreneurship.
The event has hosted again the award ceremony of the V Andalucía Emprende Prizes, where Unicaja Banco has participated. The following companies have been awarded as the best companies of Andalusia 2018: ‘Lesielle’, from Jerez and dedicated to adaptive skin-care, in the category ‘CREA’; and ‘Voss Flamenco’, from Almeria, dedicated to the customized design and sale of flamenco dresses, in the category ‘CONSOLIDA’. Special prizes have been awarded to the city of Torremolinos (Málaga) and to the CADE (Business Support Center) of Sevilla-Estrategias as recognition to their promotion of entrepreneurship.
Unicaja Banco’s Head of Business Banking, Salvador Navarro, has been a member of the jury of this edition of the Andalucía Emprende Prizes. These prizes award the most innovative and with the highest development potential business projects developed in the CADEs. The winners have been chosen from among the 16 finalist initiatives of each category which were selected during the provincial phases held in each province of Andalusia.
Unicaja Banco has also participated in one of the nine corners set up to give advice to entrepreneurs. In particular, it has participated in the area of financing rounds, where the Bank has given information on its main financing products on exclusive conditions for entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals with a viable business project.
The Entrepreneur’s Day has gathered this year 3,000 entrepreneurs, business owners and representatives from institutions committed to the promotion of entrepreneurship, and it consolidates its position as the largest event in the region related to entrepreneurship, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and networking, and encouraging creativity and the creation of new business opportunities.
Unicaja Banco’s support to this initiative falls within its close collaboration with Fundación Andalucía Emprende, as well as within its interest in contributing to the promotion of entrepreneurship in Andalusia, to boost the economic development and job creation.
Commitment and support to entrepreneurship
Unicaja Banco, as the financial institution of reference in Andalusia, reinforces its support to entrepreneurs by participating in the different actions aimed at this group. The final goal is to provide future business owners with the possibility to access all the players, tools and solutions required in the different stages when starting up a business.
In this line, during its participation in the Entrepreneur’s Day, the bank has presented different financial instruments at the disposal of professionals to boost their businesses, such as specialized financing solutions (microcredits, first company loan) or agreements entered into with institutions as Official Credit Institute (Instituto de Crédito Oficial, ICO), European Investment Bank (EIB), Andalusia Business Owners Confederation (Confederación de Empresarios de Andalucía, CEA) or Andalucía Emprende.
It has also remarked its financial education project, Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja, through its portal for entrepreneurs and business owners Edufiemp, and about EspacioJovenUni, a platform within the website www.espaciojovenuni.com, which intends to promote employment, entrepreneurship, training, innovation and talent.
