Lecture by Juan Vilar

Juan Vilar, PhD in Economics and Business and strategic consultant in Management, Agri-food and Olive Oil, has given a lecture called ‘International Olive-growing: Assessment, Challenges, and Strategies’. In his lecture, he has analyzed the leadership capacity following the threat posed by more competitive plantations in other countries, as well as the evolution of their profitability.

In particular, Vilar has analyzed 58 countries where olive-growing is present, he has described their evolution during the recent years and the competitive model applied, and he has shown the effects of the said evolutionary situation and the future challenges and strategies for the organizations in this field.

The organization of these seminars by Unicaja Banco is a proof of its long-standing commitment to the agricultural sector. This is reflected in the provision of financial, protection and advisory services, in the execution of specific agreements and in the holding of stakes in businesses.

The collaboration is also reflected in the ongoing support that Unicaja Banco gives to the agricultural and livestock sector, in terms of both financing and advice, an essential axis for the social and economic development of Andalusia and, therefore, of the province of Malaga.

Enclave Agrario intends to foster debate and dialogue through renowned professionals of the economic, social and business world, who address topical issues, adapted to the interests of each province, and promoting the exchange of opinions between the attendees.

They are, in summary, meetings for business owners of the agricultural sector, organized regularly by the financial institution to promote discussion about business trends and strategies.
