People under 35 accounted for 45.9% of the mortgage financing granted by Unicaja in 2025 for first homes, meaning that almost one in two transactions completed last year was for young people.

In total, more than 16,700 families purchased their first home with Unicaja in 2025, highlighting the bank’s contribution to facilitating access to housing, one of the main social and economic challenges today. In this way, it helps to strengthen residential stability and support the development of life plans.

In the specific case of young people, 21.6% of mortgage loans were granted to customers aged up to 30 and 24.3% to those aged between 31 and 35, as detailed in the bank’s 2025 Socio-Economic Impact Report.

This trend is underpinned by a specific range of products designed to facilitate access to housing, including the Youth Mortgage, aimed at people aged up to 35, as well as transactions channelled through agreements with regional governments and ICO loan schemes.

Mortgage financing forms part of a loan portfolio clearly geared towards home ownership, accounting for around 62% of the credit granted by the bank. In 2025, Unicaja arranged over €3,087 million in new mortgages, 30% more than the previous year.

This approach forms part of the 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, which places the customer at the heart of the bank’s activities, supporting them through the various stages of their financial journey.

Support for young people

Under the name ‘This is Uni’, Unicaja brings together a comprehensive range of services aimed at young people at different stages of their financial lives, with solutions ranging from funding for studies and other personal projects to products for buying a first home.

Regarding access to the property market, the bank is aware that buying a first home is one of the most significant financial decisions in anyone’s life, therefore, its approach combines specific terms, professional advice and personalised service, supported by advanced technology.

2025 Socio-Economic Impact Report

Unicaja is dedicated to service and committed to the development of the communities in which it operates. Indeed, it recognises that its activities have not only economic value, but also social value.

Specifically, the 2025 Socio-Economic Impact Report, ‘Our Contribution to Society’, quantifies Unicaja’s actual influence on the Spanish economy through various economic and social indicators, as well as through its commitment to sustainability, financial inclusion and financial education.

This document therefore demonstrates how a financial institution can act as a driver of transformation, a generator of opportunities and an ally of social progress.
