Unicaja reinforces its historic commitment to the agricultural sector by making 1,000 million in pre-approved financing available to farmers and livestock breeders for this financial year. With this initiative, the bank provides these professionals with the liquidity they need to meet their regular expenses and ensure the daily operation of thousands of farms.

The financing lines, in the form of loans and credit accounts, are intended for the 2026 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) campaign and intensive crops.

"Our goal is to support agriculture professionals by providing them with immediate liquidity to tackle their campaigns with confidence. The improvement of the pre-approval system allows us to reach more customers and offer a more agile response," said Francisco Vilches, Head of SMEs and Agriculture at Unicaja.

Within the framework of the CAP, Unicaja offers its customers the possibility of advancing the amount of aid on favourable terms and through a quick, simple process with specialised advice. Customers who set up a direct debit for their application will have quick access to the funds needed to cover the recurring expenses of their farms.

The deadline for submitting the single CAP application (olive groves, sheep, goat and cattle farming, arable crops, protein crops, industrial crops and nuts, among others) is 30 April, while the advance payment can be subscribed until 31 October.

For this process, Unicaja provides the sector with technical, human and financial resources, contributing experience and trust, two aspects that are particularly valued by its customers.

Farmers and livestock breeders can manage these lines through Unicaja's extensive network of branches, where they will receive specialised attention. All this is part of the bank’s commitment to the primary sector, which it supports with solutions tailored to each stage and aimed at improving the sustainability and profitability of farms.

This initiative is in addition to the financial services offered by Unicaja in Andalusia, Asturias, Cantabria, Castile and León, Castile-La Mancha and Extremadura, in coordination with the regional governments.

Omnichannel offering and local presence

Unicaja's experience in the agricultural sector is reflected in an omnichannel offering that combines in-person, digital and telephone services with financial, protection and advisory services.

The bank also has specific agreements with agricultural organisations and public administrations and participates in specialised fairs held at the regional and national level, such as Agroexpo in Don Benito (Badajoz); Fruit Attraction in Madrid; Salamaq in Salamanca; Fenavin in Ciudad Real; and Infoagro Exhibition and Expolevante in the Almeria municipalities of Aguadulce and Níjar, respectively.
