Within the framework of the collaboration agreement between Unicaja and the Malaga Provincial Council for the development of cultural activities, the supramunicipal entity is strengthening its programme for December, taking various performances to the villages and towns of the province, especially those with smaller populations.

Under the title 'Culturama on tour 2025', the Culture Department has scheduled almost twenty activities (flamenco, parades, concerts and zambombas) in Algarrobo, Alhaurín de la Torre, Almáchar, Árchez, Archidona, Benarrabá, Carratraca, Cartajima, Casarabonela, Comares, Genalguacil, Humilladero, Mollina, Nerja, Sedella, Teba and Villanueva del Trabuco.

These municipalities will enjoy Christmas zambombas by Antonio de Verónica and Saray Cortés, José Lucena, José Ortiz, María Lozano, María Rubí, La Boterita, Ortigosa, Flamenco Abierto and La Manuela.

In flamenco, Antonia Contreras and Juan Ramón Caro stand out. Baroque music will also feature in the programme, performed by the Capilla del Maestro Iribarren, together with the 'A Mares' parade by La Carpa Teatro; the concert by Chico Pérez; and the children's theatre 'Tiriticlown' by Petit Teatro.

Collaboration to strengthen the dissemination of culture

"The collaboration of Unicaja has been fundamental in enabling us to extend our programme to the province at such an important time of year as Christmas," explained Manuel López Mestanza, Vice-President of the Provincial Council and Deputy for Culture, at a press conference.

He also highlighted the dual objective of this agreement: to provide work opportunities for artists, companies, groups and other professionals who make up the 'Culturama' catalogue, as well as to collaborate with local councils on their Christmas programming.

For his part, Joaquín Ruiz del Portal Lázaro, Head of Institutional Business at Unicaja Business Banking, pointed out that "our objective, as a local bank that always puts the customer at the centre of its activity, is none other than to help the citizens of the province of Málaga enjoy a comprehensive cultural programme".

"Within the framework of Unicaja's sustainability policy, we understand that investing in culture is also investing in the sustainable development of society," said Ruiz del Portal, who highlighted the work carried out by the provincial body to "bring culture to all corners of the province, becoming an 'important ally' of the financial institution.

This collaboration agreement, signed last October between Unicaja and the Provincial Council of Malaga, will continue in 2026 with the 'Sentimiento y tradición' (Feeling and Tradition) programme, which aims to promote flamenco and copla as two musical genres that are very well received by the Malaga public.
